Agility Table Performance

I finally received the photo cd from our last agility trial!

These are the first photos I have of Stout in a trial  :) Of course, I bought all Porter's photos too. I'm kind of a photo junkie...

Anyway, today we are going to do a little photo comparison between the two  :)

Exhibit A: A normal table performance-

A small hop onto the table...

Followed by a "down" as he waits to be released

Exhibit B: Stout's table performance-

A giant leap onto the table...

Followed by another giant leap off the table to greet the judge...

Back onto the table...

Assuming the "down" position...

"Good Boy!"

5 seconds is a really long time to lie down...

Maybe a sit is ok...

Derby Day Dog Racing

Saturday morning, before the Derby, I had to monitor the agility practice field. I also had to dog-sit the Stump Kids as both their parents were working the Derby.

So I loaded up the whole gang plenty early so they would have time to run & play before students started showing up.

Stout & Mesa ended up playing their own version of the Kentucky Derby...

Stout: *poke* *poke* "Wanna race, Mesa?"

Mesa: "No thank you."

Stout: "Come on! You know you want to!"

Mesa: "I said NO! Leave me alone! I'm outta here."

Stout: "Fine. I'll just hump you then."

Apparently that was what she needed to hear...  And they're off!

After the race, they settled down to rest for awhile.

Dally and Porter skipped the racing and went straight to resting.

And a little bit of napping.

Then it was time to lock up the hooligans so we could start agility.

More Spring in Kentucky...

The iconic horse farm fence of Kentucky, complete with bluegrass...

The ever popular stone fence...

That apparently houses Kentucky rodents!

Stout says "Wait, what? Rodents?"

Derby Day!

If you live in Kentucky, it's almost mandatory that you celebrate on Derby Day!

So what do you need to celebrate the Derby?  Outrageous hats, of course!

Both hats were made with Dollar Store items. Classy!

Porter is modeling my uptown pink zebra print hat,
complete with roses, ribbons, & a small trophy!

Stout is modeling John's hat, outfitted with various drinking glasses & a pinwheel.
He kind of resembles a pimp, no?

I think you can see here how Porter felt about wearing this hat...

Fun fact: Stout got his registered name from last year's Derby winner "I'll Have Another."
