Stout Weaves 6 Poles!

And no, this ain't no April Fool's Day joke!  :)

(I am so frustrated with my video editing software... It always crops differently when I upload it to youtube & I lose my text...)

Yay Stouters! And not a moment too soon, as he has his first agility trial this weekend!

We've still got a lot of work to do, I'm not happy with his footwork at all. Or his attention to what I'm doing. So I'll probably open them up a little and get him blasting through there so we can figure it out.

But this will get us through the weekend  :)

  1. He's doing great! He's a bit focused on your hand for a treat, but he's moving through nicely. If he weaves that well for you this weekend, he'll probably have the best weaves in Novice!

    1. Thank you! I keep telling myself that... :) I did think he would be one of those dogs that wouldn't be weaving in Novice & I'd have to lure him through, but he always surprises me!

  2. OH, wow! I am so proud of you and my Grandpuppy. Great weaves for a baby agility dog. Is it an AKC trial or another venue?

    1. It is an AKC trial :) I would prefer to start him in NADAC, but he has to be 18 months old in that venue. I think he's ready for the challenges of an AKC novice course. I hope :) Thank you!

    1. Thank you! Of course, if he fails miserably at agility, that just means more focus on herding :) There really is no "down side"!

  4. Great job, Stouters! I wonder if he'd focus more straight ahead if you used a target instead of having the treat in your hand? Though there could be a reason why you don't do that, so I'll just be quiet. ;-) It looks like he's almost trying to step like a big dog weaves instead of hop. In time he'll get more comfortable with his (rather long) body going through the weaves and get it figured out I bet.

    1. Thank you! I thought about targeting the end, but he is kind of sneaky :) I think if my throws were timed better then I wouldn't be seeing so much of this. I may try an empty target...
